About Me

This site has been developed to show new and prospective clients what I’m all about and how I work so that we can take the first steps in the right direction on future projects.

My mission is to assist you in getting better tattoos; not only by me, but with any artist you choose. I aim to educate on the whole tattooing process from idea, to choosing an artist, working with them and looking after your tattoo afterwards.

A bit about me: I am a self taught artist. After studying graphic design and marketing, I began my worldly travels in my early twenties and made my way throughout South America all the way to North America.

In 2003, I moved to Australia and soon began regular trips to Europe, North America and Asia. I has since visited over 100 countries, attended over 200 tattoo conventions and worked in countless studios worldwide.

I founded my first studio in Australia in 2004; Satisfaction Art in Surfers Paradise. After some time I realised that to progress with my art I needed to step back, spend more time preparing projects and dedicating more time to my clients. I moved to a more quiet location at a local suburb on the Gold Coast, where I felt more related, where surfing was across the road and where I could free my mind from traffic, the busy night life, and be among likeminded neighbours. I loved being next to one of the most beautiful surfing beaches in the world, Burleigh Heads. That is how Surf n Ink Studio began (formerly Colour Tattoo).

I constantly travel and gained huge insights into the global tattoo world. I came to a point that I really wanted to share my learnings (my sufferings, my struggle, my life) with others. This resulted in Custom Tattooz Magazine. I could see how rapidly the tattoo industry was growing overseas, and I felt obligated to share that with Australia.

I could also see a need for quality tattoo supplies in Australia, so I founded Custom Irons Tattoo Supplies, a parallel company in my niche. I loved being able to see the new tools and products the greats were using overseas, and bring that to the tattoo community in Australia.

In 2010, as a result of the evolving industry, Australia saw it’s first truly International Tattoo Convention: SURF n Ink Festival, organised solely by myself and my girlfriend, Lindsay. Soon we just couldn’t stop it, we created a giant tattoo monster that opened so many doors and opportunities for me. I met some amazing people and realised that are some humans out there doing incredible things and coming up with amazing ideas.

Among other things, in 2011, I released my first range of Inkside Surfboards; innovative design concepts for surfboards.

In 2013, I expanded this vision and brought my tattoo convention to Brisbane and Townsville along with a number of other projects, ideas and businesses.

The end result: I truly believe a quality life is attained in doing what you love and are passionate about.

I am here to help you out; I know your concerns and I am very familiar with people asking me for help: “I didn’t get what I asked for”, “The tattoo doesn’t look the way I wanted”, “I feel like I’ve been overcharged”, “Who can I trust?” Let me answer those questions for you.

I surf, train hard and create art.
